James B. Cox, PTJim is the president and founder of THERAPY1ONE. A scholarship football athlete at Ohio University from 1977-1981, he received his Bachelor's degree in Zoology in 1981. Jim received his degree in Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University in 1983. He returned to Ohio University to get a Master's degree in Sports Medicine in 1984.
With over 25 years of experience as an orthopedic physical therapist, Jim has multiple specialties in the area of spinal rehabilitation, sports medicine, manual therapy, wellness and industrial rehabilitation.
Jim is certified in Physical Work Performance Evaluation by ErgoScience. He has been qualified as an expert witness in the areas of physical therapy and functional capacity evaluation. Jim has consulted with industry for ergonomic job analyses for many local companies including Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Bay County Schools, Bay Line Railroad, Apalachicola Northern Railroad, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation, Arizona Chemical Corporation, Gulf Power, Wendy's, Shoney's, Cost Cutters and many others. Jim serves as THERAPY1ONE's Practice Administrator and is certified in this position by the Private Practice Section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Lori L. Cox, PTAfter sustaining a sports-related hip injury as a teenager, Lori's brief encounter into the world of Physical Therapy sparked her interest. She realized then just how important a healthy physical body is to enable people to go about their daily lives and to do the things they enjoy! Lori has been practicing Physical Therapy since 1987 and she now has an even greater appreciation for this health care profession. She sees it working everyday in the successful treatment of acute and chronic pain, dysfunctions, post-surgical healing, and prevention of injuries and disease processes. Lori loves working directly with people to assist them in feeling better, maximizing their quality of life and staying well. Physical Therapy can also positively affect a person's psychological, emotional, and social well-being. Lori feels very blessed to live and work in the Bay County area. Her goal is to provide each client with respect and care to the best of her ability.
Josh Schenkel, PT, DPT, OCSAs a Physical Therapist, Josh strives to provide the best care for each patient. He uses patient values and the latest evidence to direct treatment. Josh is the clinic director at THERAPY1ONE in town on Jenks Ave. Josh received his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida in 2003, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of South Florida in 2014. He has specialized in treatments like joint mobilizations and muscle energy techniques to relieve pain. He believes that function is a result of good movement and that you need to move well to be at your best. Josh helps the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Gulf Coast State College as an adjunct teacher for orthopedics. He enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.

Susie Garcia, PT, OCSSusie Garcia is the Clinical Director at Therapy1One’s Panama City Beach location. She has been working with our company since June 2010, and became the clinical director when Therapy1One expanded and opened the Beach office. Susie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 from Florida International University and went on to receive her Master's degree in Physical Therapy three years later.
Most of her professional experience involves working with Orthopedic and Geriatric patients in various settings, but loves any opportunity to expand her expertise in treating Neurological patients as well. Susie strives to provide the best care and up to date education to her patients in order to speed their recovery, encourage better lifestyle choices, and return them to their prior level of function. Her hope is that past, current, and future patients continue to improve their overall quality of life after their rehabilitation experience is over.
Susie loves to travel, go to the beach, and spend time with her husband and two children.

Jared Wichers, PT, DPT
Jared Wichers received his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa in 2013. He has been a part of our Therapy1One family since October 2014.
Jared's professional experience includes outpatient orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation with special interest in spine rehabilitation and shoulder injuries. He has a strong background in manual therapy with superior hands on skills for treating a variety of orthopedic conditions including spinal mobilization and Mulligan techniques.
Jared enjoys the outdoors as a fisherman and golfer. He also loves spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Bert Reisma, PT
Bert has been practicing with Therapy1One since January 2018. He started his career as a Physical Therapy Technician in the U.S. Navy, and then decided to become a Physical Therapist. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Physical Therapy, and then joined the U.S. Air Force, where he practiced until retiring in 1997.
After retiring from the military, Bert took a position as a back specialist, but then left to travel for a little bit. After traveling, he decided to return to Physical Therapy.
Bert has always enjoyed riding motorcycles but was in a motorcycle accident in 2016. He spent 7 days in the ICU and has rehabilitated himself from 6 broken ribs, 6 displaced ribs, a broken jaw, 3 torn rotator cuff muscles in the left arm, and an AC separation in the right arm. He is living proof that with therapy and determination, nothing can stop you!
Laura M. Smith, PTA
Laura Smith was born and raised in Michigan prior to moving to Panama City. She received her Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from Gulf Coast State College in 2000.
Laura has 17 years experience in outpatient orthopedics. She places emphasis to free her patients from pain, restore prior level of function, and prevent re- occurrence. She is a certified APTA clinical instructor affiliated with Gulf Coast State College students. She is blessed to able to give back to her profession. She is also trained in the MyoKinesthetic System, a muscle movement technique that corrects and balances the nervous system.
Laura has a passion for leading a healthy lifestyle and enjoys teaching others how to make good exercise habits for a healthy living.

James has been a Physical Therapist Assistant with THERAPY1ONE ever since graduating the program at Gulf Coast Community College in May of 2010.
James chose physical therapy as a profession so he can assist others in maintaining and improving their quality of life. He has received training in the MyoKinesthetic System, a muscle movement technique that corrects and balances the nervous system.
James is from Florida, but has been all over the world in different endeavors in his life. He proudly served our country for four years in the United States Air Force. He is married to his lovely wife Robin of 13 years and has two wonderful children Max and McKenna. James always encourages others to stay fit, take their vitamins, say their prayers, and enjoy life. He looks forward to working with patients and helping them reach their maximum potential.

Kelli Cianelli, PTA
Kelli Cianelli is a Panama City Native who graduated from Mosley High School, and graduated the PTA program at Gulf Coast State College, Class of 2014. She has worked with Therapy1One since May 2014.
Kelli became interested in the field of Physical Therapy after she underwent Rotator Cuff surgery in high school from a sports related injury. She enjoys all aspects of the field and is eager to continue her education to maximize personalized care with all varieties of patients. Her interests lay in neurological rehab, especially stroke rehabilitation. Kelli strongly believes in not only the physical aspect of therapy, but the psychological aspect as well. She strives to be a constant encouragement to all patients who come in contact with her.
Kelli understands that at times simple tasks may appear impossible to those she treats, but in the wise words of Audrey Hepburn "nothing is impossible, the very word says I'M POSSIBLE."
Amanda Viox, PTA
Amanda graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science from Huntington College in Alabama, class of 2011. She earned her degree from the PTA program at Gulf Coast State College in 2015. Amanda has been a part of the Therapy1One team since January 2018, with over two years of prior experience in the orthopedic outpatient field.
Amanda's interest in physical therapy began while playing soccer for Huntington and working as a PT Aide in an outpatient therapy clinic in college. She saw firsthand, both on and off the field, the benefits and rewards of helping patients achieve increased independence following injury or surgery.
Amanda enjoys helping her patients gain mobility and strength in order to return to their prior level of function with confidence.
In her free time, Amanda loves spending time with her dog Tucker, and she competes in bodybuilding competitions. She leads an active lifestyle and encourages others to do the same.
Stephen Clark, PTA
Stephen Clark is a staff Physical Therapist Assistant at the Therapy1One Rehabilitation Center in Panama City and Panama City Beach locations. He recently graduated from the PTA Program at Gulf Coast State College, Class of 2017.
Stephen is excited to work with Therapy1One and give back to the local community. He recognizes the importance of continued education in the ever-evolving medical field and constantly seeks to further his education.
Stephen's interest in physical therapy began when he sustained a sports related knee injury and needed physical therapy himself. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. Stephen also plays golf, watches football (Go Noles!) and waits for the Braves to win a World Series.

Kathy Pitts, OT
Kathy has over 26 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist and is one of the area's leading hand therapy specialists. She graduated from Florida A&M University in 1994 with her Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
Kathy's areas of interest include all upper extremity conditions (hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders) for patients of all ages. Her passion is to treat patients after complex surgery by helping them achieve maximum function.
Kathy's goal is to provide the best quality of care for each and every patient.
